Sports+

We work with young people aged 10 – 18 at risk of involvement in anti-social behaviour, or any young person that fall into the criteria that we are set to meet and cater for. We derive supportive activities that we hope to bring about a productive development of positive behaviours and identities.By working hand in hand with the young person and the responsible people involved, we give ourselves the opportunities to build strong and healthy relationships.

What we offer

Sports activities:

Rugby, Football, Gym based training, Basketball, Dance

Sports plus:

Mentoring, Opportunities to attain a new skill and qualification, Volunteering roles and opportunities, Food and drink

How we do it:

Partnership; We have partnered with local sports organisations.
  • Maindy Pool leisure centre – We have access to the gym and boxing facilities at the centre; Youth workers and their partners take young people on a 7 sessions programme; this can be twice or once a week working with the wants of the young person. Each session is up to 3 hours long, this will not all be for gym training, we will incorporate our sport plus activities in these sessions. This includes food and drinks.
  • Personalised Sports leaders training with one of our partners.
  • 121 basketball and football personalised training and fun games
  • Fun games and group physical activities through an outreach approach.

We follow the policies set aside by our youth provision and have the young person at the center of our planning, organising and delivery.
