Deposits

  • Why are they taken? 

We take deposits to ensure that people who have hired out our rooms show up on the day of their booking. Our deposits are refundable.

  • How much are they?

It varies, depending on the booking. They can range from £25 – £200, depending on the space you are using, how many attendees there are, what equipment you require etc.

What is the difference between Event Rate and Activity Rate?

Activity Rate and Event Rate apply to the Main Hall and Bingo Hall.

Activity Rate – If you are bulk-booking a regular activity with us i.e. dance classes/karate lessons etc, the rate per session is £20 p/hr for the Main Hall or £22 p/hr in the Bingo Hall.

Event Rate – If you are making a one-off booking with us i.e. a birthday party/art show etc, the rate per session is £24 p/hr for the Main Hall or £27.50 p/hr for the Bingo Hall.

When is alcohol permitted at bookings?

We do not allow alcohol for private bookings. We do allow certain community/public events to have alcohol, and there is an option on the booking form to declare if you wish to have alcohol at your event.

Is set up and pack down time included in my booked time slot?

Yes, e.g. if you have are booking a party from 2-4pm and need 1 hour either side to set up and pack away, please make your booking request for 1-5pm.

What’s expected in regards to cleaning?

We expect all our users to leave the room in the state that they found it in. The staff at the community centre are happy to help with anything you may need, yet also expect users to be responsible when it comes to clearing up after themselves and leaving the space in a respectable state.

When must music stop?

Our license requires music at the centre to stop by 11pm.

How late can events go on?

Most events must be finished by 11pm at the latest; however, certain bookings may be negotiable. This will often incur a higher cost.
