Aubergine Cafe is a neurodivergent (ND) and LGBTQ+ owned and run community cafe staffed entirely by neurodivergent adults serving plant-based food and drink. We offer a relaxed sensory environment and a sober venue for cultural events and gatherings.
Using our lived experience as ND adults we aim to create safe and inclusive spaces for multiply-marginalised neurodivergent people to work, learn skills, access culture and community and exist as ourselves without feeling the need to mask any part of our identity.
We aim to combat social isolation, facilitate community building among neurodivergent people in Wales, and provide an example of neurodivergent-inclusive working practices that can be easily replicated in other workplaces.
We provide opportunities for paid employment as well as volunteering for autistic/ND adults. We also offer an accessible platform for autistic and neurodivergent culture, hosting a variety of arts activities such as art exhibitions, open mic nights and creative workshops delivered by neurodivergent artists.
Think of us as your little ‘neuro quirky’ home away from home. Everyone is welcome.
