This year has been a good year for Impact LGBTQ+ Youthclub since coming back from Lockdown, despite some setbacks caused by COVID.
The group has grown in number, with nearly 50 young people on our register, and between 13 and 15 regularly attending a group in person. We continue to run our online provision, though at a reduced capacity as most of our members prefer to meet in person.
What are the next steps?
- we want to grow our wellbeing and mental health offer, and through our partnership want to explore the possibility of one on one coaching for members.
- continue to run group sessions and workshops to promote wellbeing and resilience.
- we will increase our cooking sessions and will plan and deliver sessions focusing on practical support – budgeting, home management and job searching to support our young people who are not in education or training or do not feel positive about their future.
- build partnerships with local organisations and groups, and will start of the next financial year with the United World College of the Atlantic, joining them on their annual Project week learning facilitation skills and workshop planning.
- reach more schools, colleges and organisations and aim to group our numbers and support more LGBT+ young people across Cardiff, and beyond.
