Under Construction Outdoor All Day Music & Arts Festival
will be a fun day out for all the family, though it's true to say that teenage members may find a little bit more to appreciate. The festival will take place at Maindy Centre, North Road, on Saturday 14th August & is being organised by Cathays Soundscene Youth Members, with support of youth staff & volunteers. They need to raise up to £10,000 in order to top the massive success of last year's event. So please, please, help by buying this promotional CD on sale for £5 (or more if you want!) from Cathays Community Centre - other outlets to be arranged soon.
The five original tracks (only £1 each!!), freshly recorded (see www.reeltimesoundservices.co.uk), feature Festival Favourites & Battle of the Bands (ear) Bashers, Kamikaze Veterans, Inconsiderate Parking, Sunset to Mourning, Solace Awaits & Session One. Festival steering group members meet most Sundays at 2.30pm, prior to Soundscene Youth Club, & welcome new members, ideas, requests, help with raising funds, etc, etc. So come along or make contact via Jon at Cathays Community Centre. Also look out for Under Construction Festival MySpace soon to be launched. The festival is not staffed or financed by a company or a public authority & can only happen with exceptional voluntary effort & successful funding appeals. So if you really care about young people making a hugely positive contribution to their community & if you value their development as confident, happy, people then please support them & this event in whatever way you can (preferably with lots of money though...) |
